The Battleship Kilkis took part in World War I, as a co-capitulator of the co-capitulator of the Greek light fleet of G. Kakoulides. After the Turkish capitulation on 1 November 1918, Kilkis sailed with other ships of the fleet to Nicomedia and from there to Constantinople. In 1919, it participated in the Crimean operations against the Bolsheviks in the Black Sea and after their end, it sailed again to Constantinople where it remained throughout the operations of the Asia Minor campaign (1919-1922).
