The Principality of Samos was the name of the autonomous state under the suzerainty of the Sublime Porte (Ottoman Empire) that was created in 1832 by a decision of the Great Powers for the administration of Samos after the creation of the Kingdom of Greece and the independence of part of the Greek territories from the Ottoman Empire. This status remained in Samos until the First Balkan War and the union of the island with Greece.
