Antonios Giannaris (1852 Lakki Chania - 1909 on a ship to America) was a philologist, linguist and leader of the Cretan Revolution. President of the revolutionary assembly in Omalos and General Inspector of the schools of Crete during the period of the island's autonomy. In 1904 he was imprisoned by the High Commissioner Prince George due to opposition activity.
