LSSAH "Leibstandarte SS Adolf Hitler“ : The 1st SS Panzer Division "Bodyguard Adolf Hitler" began as Adolf Hitler's personal bodyguard and guard of the Reich Chancellery of Nazi Germany.  The LSSAH was shifted to Bulgaria in March 1941 in preparation for Operation Marita, part of the planned invasion of Greece and Yugoslavia.
