Ilias Lalaounis (October 4, 1920 - December 30, 2013) was a distinguished goldsmith, jeweler and jewelry designer. He was born in Agia Ekaterini, Plaka, and grew up and lived in Plaka, in the building that currently houses the Ilias Lalaounis Jewelry Museum. He was originally from Delphi. Ilias Lalaounis is the only jewelry artist to have been awarded by the French Academy of Fine Arts. He studied Law and Political Science at the University of Athens.
