Greek Royal Cavalry Sword, King George A era, ''Three Crowns''
Early 1900s
The coat of arms of King George A is placed on the hilt, pommel and blade. Sadly part of the coat of arms has been removed from the hilt and pommel. The scabbard of the sword has oxidation. The sword knot has tear and wear.
Beautiful convex and engraved blade.
Solingen
The Three Crowns marking was a form of quality control and was indicating that the sword met the standards for the Danish, Swedish and Norwegian army. (symbolizing the Kalmar Union)
Apparently due to the Danish descent of King George A, a Danish blade was used for this magnificent sword.
