A watch that shows... that humanity can exist even among enemies.

Some time ago, one morning, a well-dressed old woman with a stern appearance visited our shop.

"Hello, I'm not selling this, I'm giving it away," she said.

'I have a story to tell you.'' she continued.

"In 1942, a German Officer came to a doctor's clinic in Thebes, asking for medical treatment. When this was provided, the officer wanted to pay the doctor for the medical assistance , and when he explained that he did not want any payment, the officer took out his watch and left it to him, not accepting the doctor's objections.

This watch was made as a watch for Wehrmacht officers. The doctor wore it until 1973 and the back of it got oxidized from the liquid antiseptics he used to disinfect his hands etc.

The clock still works perfectly, but the number on the back is no longer there, nor the phosphor of the numbers that glittered in the night.

Being surprised by the story we heard we did not react and continued to look at her carefully.

''I want to give it to you, because I want it to be saved. My children don't value anything, they will throw it away and to a museum that I addressed to, they said they are not interested due to wear and tear,'' she said, gave us the watch and a letter and left.

Particularly moved by the woman's story and gesture, we have her father's watch in our personal collection to save it as much as possible.
