As part of the first cultural events of the Greek administration in Smyrna, in May 1919, a multicultural concert with French, Greek, Scottish and popular songs of the First World War took place.
Manolis Kalomiris (1883-1962) was a great musician and composer of international fame.
From 1917 to 1937, Manolis Kalomiris had served as General Inspector of Military Music Department
In 1919-1922, part of the Military Music Department took part in the Asia Minor campaign, following the Headquarters of the 1st Army Corps.
